AUSTIN, Texas - TCU's Monika Sirilova closed play at the UT Women's Longhorn Invitational on Saturday.
Sirilova dropped a tough 6-3, 6-4 decision to SMU's Hristina Dishkova in the "white" bracket quarterfinals. The junior from Slovakia went 1-1 on the weekend.
"It was a good weekend for Monika, all in all," TCU coach Dave Borelli said. "She's still getting used to playing on the hard courts, so she just needs to get in some more matches and she'll be fine."
Two other members of TCU's women's tennis team are in action this weekend at an ITF Pro Circuit Event in Amelia Island, Fla., as Olivia Smith and Stefanie Tan open play tomorrow.
