
Frogs Drop Tough Decision at North Texas, 132-111

DENTON, Texas - TCU's women's swimming and diving team fell in a close dual-meet to North Texas on Friday evening, 132-111.
The Mean Green jumped out to an early lead with wins in each of the first five events, before TCU (8-5) stormed back to make the meet competitive down to the very end.
Junior wins leader Sabine Rasch was brilliant once again for the Frogs, notching wins in the 50-free and 100-free. The Luckenwalde, Germany, native clocked a 24.36 in the 50-free to finish ahead of teammate Parris Schoppa (24.61).
In the 100-free, Rasch edged Katie Scarsella with a 52.71 for the win. Scarsella was second in 53.50 as TCU went 1-2 in both of the sprint events.
Sophomore Amanda Vincent, who leads the Mountain West in the 200-fly, led a TCU 1-2 finish in that event as she blistered the competition in 2:03.96. Freshman teammate Ali Bleasdell claimed second-place honors in 2:07.24.
Freshman Elizabeth Oster continued solid run of success by claiming a win in the 200-back. She was fastest in the event with a 2:07.02.
The Frogs added their other win in the meet's final event with a 1:36.74 in the 200-free relay. Scarsella, Kristi Dena, Rasch and Schoppa led the way in the event.
TCU returns to action Jan. 25 when it hosts SMU inside the TCU University Recreation Center Natatorium. The first event on senior night is set to begin at 6 p.m.
