POSTGAME QUOTES
TCU 77, Air Force 47
Fort Worth, Texas (Daniel-Meyer Coliseum)
Feb. 6, 2010
Attendance: 2,710
TCU HEAD COACH Jeff Mittie
On his team's performance
"I thought we were pretty sharp most of the game, particularly in the second half. We got some good work in against the zone, but I didn't feel like we had much energy. It was one of those games that just seemed to drag along, but it's good to get a win. I think we were able to pass the ball better, so I was pleased with that as the game went on."
On TCU's bench play
"I'm happy with some aspects of it. We went deep in the rotation, and we had some breakdowns in that, but they had some extended minutes today. Micah's (Garouute) still trying to find her way back up after the injury and I'd like to see her fly around a little bit better. She seems to be a step slow. We talked about that, and I just want her to keep fighting through that. I think she can help us down the stretch, and it was important that we got her some minutes today. You saw her pass it better, so that was encouraging, but we have to get her rebounding better."
TCU JUNIOR GUARD/FORWARD Helena Sverrisdottir
On the status of the team with the season winding down
"I think we are really excited. Its getting closer to the end, and I think we realize we have the potential to be a really good team. We just want to be a really good team and work hard
On the home winning streak
"We definitely take pride in it. We take pride in coming in here every day, and we have fun playing at home. It's definitely a fun thing seeing this streak build, but we just really want to come in every day and try to get better."
TCU FRESHMAN FORWARD DeLisa Gross
On TCU's success on offense against Air Force
"I think we did well against the zone today. We have practiced playing against the zone, and I think we passed the ball well. We did a lot of high-low, and it worked out for us."
