TCU HEAD COACH Jeff Mittie
On his view of the game
"I thought the first half was sloppy, both teams. I think we had 11 turnovers and they had 13. We were able to use our defensive pressure to bother them, and I felt that the way they switched defenses bothered us. That was a thing we need to test to settle into this game. Once we did, we were able to get some pretty good shots."
On his team's defensive effort against CSU guard Kim Mestagh
"TK (LaFleur) did an excellent job when she was on her. Antoinette (Thompson) started the game on her. Anytime you are playing a shooter that is coming off of screens, your ball pressure has to be excellent. That makes it a timing thing. When they are setting as many screens for her, it is impossible as a defender to get through everyone of them and not give her the space she needs. What helps is if there is ball pressure, then she will not get the ball when she needs it.
"It was a team effort, but ultimately I thought TK and Antoinette really did not let her loose early in the game. Then when she did have some wide open shots, she did not have any rhythm. She finally knocked a few down late. She is an excellent player, and we just played her very well tonight."
TCU SENIOR GUARD TK LaFleur
On if she was aware that the 1,000-point mark was in reach
"Yes, I was aware because Helena reminded me at home. It was not like I had to go out there and get nine points. They came from running the offense.
"It was going to come with time. I was not trying to force it or anything. It is a great feeling. I am happy I reached it, and now I can move on."
