TYLER, Texas - Travis Woolf (Fort Worth, Texas | Paschal H.S.) recorded top amateur laurels at the 2009 Chesapeake Energy Texas State Open at The Cascades in Tyler, Texas, this past weekend.
The TCU senior earned a spot at the Texas State Open after qualifying at Waterchase Golf Club earlier in the summer months, and Woolf made the most of his opportunity as he finished 10th overall en route to tying Chris Ward of Texas Tech for top amateur accolades.
Woolf finished with a 7-under-par score of 273 en route to claiming his fourth top-10 showing of the summer. The Fort Worth product captured his first tournament championship at the Southwestern Amateur then recorded a fourth-place showing at the Texas Amateur and seventh-place finish at the Palmetto Amateur.
