COLUMBUS, Ohio - The TCU women's tennis doubles team of Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska fell in the semifinals of the 2007 ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Saturday to the ninth-ranked team of Brook Buck and Kelcy Tefft of Notre Dame by a score of 6-4, 6-3.
"We played a tough, veteran Notre Dame team today," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "They played an excellent match and are very deserving of the finals. We played hard and were just overmatched."
The No. 14 team of Harkins and Sydorska won two matches in the tournament, defeating Fresno Pacific's Karavayeva and Kolkotsky 8-0 and pulling the upset over Georgia Tech's third-ranked team of McCray and Miller by a score of 8-6.
The loss concludes the fall season for the duo, ending with a 7-3 record, including a 2-2 mark against nationally ranked opponents.
