
Two Frogs advance to semifinals at SDSU Fall Classic

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - TCU women's tennis players Maria Babanova and Idunn Hertzberg both won opening-round singles matches on Friday at the 2007 SDSU Fall Classic No. 2 to advance to the semifinals of their respective flights.
Babanova, a freshman from Moscow, Russia, defeated Oklahoma's Elena Antakova by a score of 6-1, 6-1. Babanova will face Aleksandra Krsljanin of Washington in the semifinals of Flight No. 3 on Saturday.
Fellow freshman Idunn Hertzberg defeated Monica Wiesner of San Diego by a score of 6-1, 7-5 to advance the semifinals of Flight No. 1. Hertzberg will meet San Diego State's Julia Trunk on Saturday.
In doubles play, the duo of Babanova and Andrea Morgado fell to Oklahoma's Eckel and Baxley, 8-4. The Frog duo will meet Washington's Wong and Krsljanin in the doubles consolation round on Saturday at 9 a.m.
