COLUMBUS, Ohio - The TCU women's tennis doubles duo of Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska knocked off Georgia Tech's third-ranked team of Kristi Miller and Whitney McCray by a score of 8-6 on Friday morning to advance to the semifinals at the 2007 ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships.
"Anna and Macall had a great start to the match today," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "They played very solid doubles against an excellent team. It was a great win."
The Horned Frogs jumped out to a dominating 6-3 lead in the match before Tech battled back to close the gap to 6-5. Both teams held serve from that point forward, as Harkins served it out at 7-6 to clinch the match.
Harkins and Sydorska, ranked No. 14 nationally, are currently 7-2 on the season. The Frogs will face Notre Dame's ninth-ranked duo of Brook Buck and Kelcy Tefft on Saturday.
