TCU completes day three of ITA Southwest Regional

LUBBOCK, Texas - The TCU women's tennis team wrapped up the third day of the Wilson/ITA Regional Championship on Sunday. Nina Munch-Soegaard won two matches to advance to the singles quarterfinals, while the duo of Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska advanced to the doubles quarterfinals.
Munch-Soegaard, a sophomore from Amarillo, Texas, cruised past Kelsy Garland of Texas Tech by a score of 6-1, 6-1 to enter the round of 16. Munch-Soegaard recorded her third straight sets victory of the tournament with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Natalia Bubien of SMU.
Both Harkins and Sydorska won matches in the singles round of 32 before falling in the round of 16 on Sunday. Harkins defeated Simone Templeton of Texas Tech 6-1, 6-0 before dropping a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Christi Liles of Texas A&M. Sydorska defeated Jane Pringle of Texas 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 and fell to Baylor's Taylor Ormond by a score of 6-4, 6-0.
Harkins and Sydorska, the tournament's top-seeded doubles duo, defeated Lin and Shiva-Shankar of Rice, 2-1, ret. in the round of 16. The TCU duo will face No. 6 Dubova and Hedberg of LSU in the quarterfinal round on Monday.
TCU newcomer Idunn Hertzberg also had an impressive showing on Sunday, winning two matches in the singles consolation draw. Hertzberg, a native of Oslo, Norway, took a 6-3, 6-4 decision over Leila Salek of Houston and followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Myrthe Molenveld of Louisiana-Lafayette to reach the quarterfinals.
Hertzberg also teamed up with Andrea Morgado in the first round of the doubles consolation draw to defeat Texas State's Gulida and Hartmann 8-1.
