Women's tennis continues play at Mean Green Invitational

DENTON, Texas - TCU women's tennis players Melissa Beré and Karine Ionesco completed days one and two of singles action at the North Texas Invitational Friday and Saturday.
Interim head coach Jefferson Hammond was pleased with the results from day two of the tournament.
"I am very proud of the effort Melissa and Karine displayed today" Hammond said, "They persevered through their matches and found a way to win. That's what college tennis is all about."
In the semi-finals of the main draw (Flight Green), Ionesco pulled through with a 5-7, 6-3 (10-7) victory over Sam Houston State's Lata Assudani. In the same flight, Beré dug deep to overpower Rachel Anders from Tyler Junior College by scores of 4-6, 6-3 (10-6). Complete results from the first two days are listed below.
The Frogs will wrap-up the final day of the Mean Green Invitational tomorrow at Waranch Tennis Complex. Doubles finals will begin at 9:00 a.m. directly followed by the singles finals.
