Men's golf finishes fifth at MWC Tournament

SUNRIVER, Ore. - The 37th-ranked TCU men's golf team placed fifth at the 2006 Mountain West Conference Championships after shooting a combined 882 for the three-day event at the Sunriver Resort-Crosswater Club. Freshman Tom Miles shot a combined 216 for the tournament to tie for second place.
In the final round, the Frogs shot a 306.
Miles shot a +2 (74) in the final round to tie with San Diego State's Andrew Scott. The freshman began the day in second place and was able to hold form for his finish.
2005 Conference USA individual champion Drew Stoltz shot a 77 in the final round to tie with five other golfers for sixth place in the tournament. Hailing from Fort Collins, Colo., Stoltz concluded the competition with a score of 218.
Senior Drew Laning began his day in 30th-place. The Little Rock, Ark., product shot his second best score (75) of the tournament to leap three spaces and conclude his MWC Championship run tied for 27th with Wyoming's Jeff Franks and Colorado State's Kevin McAlpine.
