TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson
On the TCU defense
"We make up for our mistakes because of our speed. The No. 1 defense (on our team) did not give up a touchdown today. We really did what we've been doing the last few weeks."
On the TCU offense
"When you have more than a couple of people that you can go to then it obviously helps us. We just mixed it up out there and it makes a big difference when a lot of different people can touch the football."
About the team refocusing
"We had a Thursday practice that was in the ice and our guys came out and were way fired up to do it. I think it was probably a great thing for us because it was a change over. Ever since that day it looked like our kids were focused and ready for the job. We had a great day that day."
About getting back into the Top 25
"Since the losses, that's what our whole goal was (to get back in the rankings). It comes down to how you finish in November and December, not August. This year we came back (from the losses), got on a roll late, got some people healthy and now we have a chance to win 11 ball games with the bowl game. I think with Georgia Tech losing today we might have a chance to get back in the rankings."
On the trip to the Poinsettia Bowl
"I'm excited because it's the first destination trip we've ever taken as a team. I think it's also exciting because it's the first bowl game of the season. Last year, it was one of the top-watched bowl games. I think you got two teams that play the same way. You have name-players on both teams that are hard-nosed and we have the chance to play on national television."
Jeff Ballard
On being able to close out with seven straight wins
"We believed we could. I've been around numerous teams in the same situations and this was a very mature team. I knew we just had to take it one game at a time."
Quentily Harmon
On being able to close out with seven straight wins
"I'm so proud of this team, we graduated a very good class of seniors last season and everyone asked how TCU could bounce back. It was good to see us come back after being 3-2 and gaining team chemistry. It's really a blessing to have everyone on the same page."
Marvin White
Thoughts on the Poinsettia Bowl
"It's going to be great. We'll get a chance to see LaDainian Tomlinson play, ¬ one of the greatest players in TCU history. On top of that, we'll get to play in a bowl game."
Team's mindset after two consecutive losses
"Coach Patterson told us we had to beat the odds. When things are going bad, that's when you find out who the true leaders are on the team. Losing put a bad taste in our mouth and we just had to go out and beat the odds."
Air Force Head Coach Fisher DeBerry
On the game...
"It was to much to soon. We dug ourselves into a 14-0 hole and couldn't get out of it. We couldn't get a drive stopped early in the game"
On aspects of the game...
"This game is about tackling and blocking. We did not tackle very well and we did not block very well. We did not tackle, block or pass as well as I know we are capable of."
On what was good...
"We got everyone into the game that we brought and that is good for us. We have a lot of good young players and can learn some lessons about what happened tonight."
