One of 15 players added to watch list for top quarterback honor
NEW ORLEANS – Expanding on the preseason watch list, The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, announced Friday that TCU quarterback Jaden Craig has been added to its 2026 watch list.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes candidates' post-season performances in its balloting.
Finalists for the honor will be determined by a select panel of national media members covering college football, along with Archie, Peyton and Eli Manning. The finalists will be announced on Friday, December 4, and the winner will be announced following the College Football Playoff National Championship.
This season, Craig has posted numbers that rank highly both in the Big 12 and in the country. He currently ranks second in the Big 12 in 300-yard passing performances (3) and ranks third in passing average per game (282.33). His passing average sits 12th nationally.
His 300-yard passing outputs came against Grambling State, Arkansas State and UCF, and he reached 294 against Baylor on the road. He also has thrown for multiple touchdown passes in three games this season.Â
