TCU (10-2, 6-2) has reached 10 wins for the fourth time in five years, all under head coach Gary Patterson. No other coach in Horned Frog history has more than two 10-win seasons.
The Horned Frogs return to action Dec. 19 when they face Northern Illinois in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.
The Frogs have a seven-game winning streak during which they have outscored their opponents 176-13 in the first half.
During TCU's seven-game winning streak, no opponent has had more than 300 yards of offense against the Frogs. Air Force had 142.
The Frogs' seven wins in a row have been by an average margin of 23.6 points.
The Frogs held Air Force to 98 yards rushing on 44 attempts (2.2 per carry) after the Falcons entered the game with the nation's third-best rushing offense (241.4).
Dating back to the start of last season, TCU has won 21 of its last 24 games.
The Frogs have won 18 straight Saturday games and are 19-1 on that day over the last two seasons. During that same period, TCU has won 12 straight day games.
TCU is now 34-5 at home since the start of the 2000 season. In their final three Amon G. Carter Stadium games this season, the Frogs outscored their opposition 116-17.
The Frogs' run of six straight quarters without a punt came to an end when Brian Cortney had an attempt in the final minute of the third quarter. It was TCU's first punt since Derek Wash on the first play of the fourth quarter of the Nov. 18 victory over San Diego State. The Frogs did not punt last week at Colorado State.
On Senior Day, the Horned Frogs' first three touchdowns were scored by seniors (tailback Lonta Hobbs, quarterback Jeff Ballard and wide receiver Quentily Harmon).
Ballard improved his record to 18-2, placing him first in career winning percentage (90.0) by a TCU starting quarterback.
Ballard remains TCU's all-time leader in completion percentage (60.8, 310-of-510).
With his 80.0 (20-of-25) completion percentage against Air Force, Ballard has posted three of the top six single-game marks in school history this season. He set the record with an 87.0 percentage (20-of-23) on Nov. 18 against San Diego State. He was also 18-of-23 (78.3 percent) versus UC Davis for the sixth-best effort.
In his last two home games, Ballard was a combined 40-of-48 (83.3 percent) for 508 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions.
Ballard completed his first 12 pass attempts, just two shy of his TCU single-game record of 14 set last month (Nov. 18) versus San Diego State.
In going back to last week's Colorado State game, Ballard had 14 straight completions over a two-game stretch. He completed his final two pass attempts against the Rams.
Harmon's four receptions gave him 105 in his career, moving him ahead of Reggie Harrell (103, 2002-04) into 10th place on the Frogs' all-time list.
Torrey Stewart's 20-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter was the TCU defense's third score this season. Nick Sanders returned a pick 21 yards for a touchdown at Army, while Tommy Blake reached the end zone on a 12-yard fumble return at New Mexico.
