| TCU's Associate Athletic Director for External Operations, Scott Kull, will answer questions about TCU athletics. |
| TCU Moderator: Alright fans, welcome. We have Associate Athletic Director for External Operations, Scott Kull with us, ready to take your questions. |
| Doug (Dallas): First, welcome to TCU. We're glad to have you here. What do you think is the biggest challenge to increasing football and men's basketball attendance at TCU? |
| Scott Kull: Thank you very much for your question. I appreciate your support of the Frogs.
Assuming that we continue to win, we need to be creative in our approach to our marketing programs. |
| Bill From Tampa: Scott, just wanted to say how much we appreciated the job you did at FSU. You really helped us out down here many times with the radio situation. What do you feel is your biggest challange right now there at TCU. Good luck. |
| Scott Kull: Hello Bill. It's great to hear from you. Thank you for your comments.
Our biggest challenge right now at TCU is selling tickets at football and men's and women's basketball. I think we have a great staff here and all the resources that we need to be successful. We just need to challenge ourselves each and every day to develop new and innovative approaches to marketing and selling tickets. |
| Marc (Waco): How can we get Frog football and basketball on radio stations outside of the DFW Metroplex? I'd love to be able to listen to more TCU games down here, and I know my friends in Houston would too. |
| Scott Kull: Thank you for your question.
It is a question that I asked myself upon my arrival. A decision to air certain programming is a business decision on the part of the radio station. If our alumni in a certain area call up a radio station enough asking them to air TCU sporting events, the station will take notice to that and it will enhance our credibility when we call that station about clearance. We had an opportunity with a station in Houston this year that would have given us great coverage, but the deal fell through at the last minute. We will continue to get clearance throughout the state, but there's a lot of competition within the state with many college programs and professional sports teams. |
| Bud (Dallas): First time writer... What are your plans to take TCU to the next level in regards to technology and the internet? |
| Scott Kull: We want to be cutting edge on technology on the Internet and that includes streaming video. |
| Kim and Josh (Tallahassee): What plans do you have to market men's and women's basketball this year? |
| Scott Kull: Great question. We have launched a committee of Metroplex business leaders to help us identify new opportunities for growing our fan base. We will be enhancing the game-day experience with a video screen at several men's and women's basketball games. Much of our efforts will be focused on selling our family plan that's available for both men's and women's basketball. For the women, teams such as Duke and Georgia will be coming to the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. |
| J.D. (Houston): Glad to hear TCU is retiring LT' #5 this season. Any chance to recognize other players like Lilly and Swink? What about basketball players? |
| Scott Kull: Thank you for your comment regarding LT. At this time, I'm not aware of any plans to recognize Bob Lilly and Jim Swink, but I will look into this. We do have banners recognizing both Lilly and Swink and other past Horned Frog greats in the concourse of the football stadium. We recognized Kurt Thomas at the Sept. 15 football game with Utah for his induction into the TCU Lettermen's Hall of Fame. |
| FrankFrog (Ft. Worth): I like the banners recognizing the past greats and bowls in Amon Carter this season. Any chance of creating new traditions like Clemson's sod graveyard or even SMU's Doak Walker Plaza? |
| Scott Kull: With imminent plans of renovating Amon Carter Stadium, I am sure that we will consider developing new traditions like the ones you mentioned.
Thank you for your question. |
| Dan Meyer (Ft. Worth): Any big plans for taking our Cheerleading squad to the next level? |
| Scott Kull: We value our spirit groups and I always want our programs to continue to get better. |
| TCU Moderator: This concludes our chat tonight. If you have any other questions for Scott, please contact him at s.kull@tcu.edu. |
