Perez and Aburto Fall in Consolation Semifinals

FORT WORTH, Texas - Junior Paty Aburto and senior Rosa Perez ended their Riviera Qualifying Tournament run with an 8-2 loss Thursday to Urska Juric and Katka Sevcikova of Missouri in the semifinals of the consolation bracket. The TCU pair ends its qualifying rounds in Pacific Palisades, Calif. with a 2-2 mark.
In the first round of the consolation bracket, Aburto and Perez defeated Maureen Diaz and Anita Loyola of Southern California by a score of 8-6. The pair also defeated Jackie Carleton and Sara Walker of UCLA by an 8-6 count to advance to the semifinals.
The Frogs will be at home Oct. 18-21 when they host the 2002 Omni Hotels Southwest Regional Championships at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
