Horned Frogs Win at Furman, 7-0

FORT WORTH, Texas (March 16, 2001)- The TCU women's tennis team defeated
Furman, 7-0, Friday, in Greenville, S.C. The Frogs increased their
winning
streak to five matches and improved their record to 8-3. The Lady
Paladin
dropped to 5-7.
The Horned Frogs opened the match by taking two of three doubles matches, winning at nos. 2 and 3 and losing at no. 1. TCU's Paty Aburto and Leoni Weirich extended their winning streak to 9 matches with their win at no. 3, and Rosa Perez and Saber Pierce extended theirs to five matches with their win at no. 2.
TCU went on to sweep the Lady Paladins in straight-set singles victories to earn the 7-0 triumph. Both the no. 1 and no. 2 singles first sets went to a tie-breaker.
The Frogs next play South Carolina on Sunday in Columbia, S.C.
