Men's Golf Finishes Seventh in NCAA Regionals

VICTORIA, Texas (May 20) TCU shot a final round 280 Saturday, May 20, to finish
seventh in the NCAA Central Regionals, qualifying for a spot in the NCAA
Championships. The top nine teams advance to the NCAA Championships, May 31-
June 3 in Alabama. Texas won the tournament with a 54-hole total of 847, 12
shots ahead of TCU's 54-hole score of 859.
The Frogs were led by All-WAC performer Aaron Hickman, who finished tied for third with a 54-hole total of 208 (72-67-69), six shots behind tournament medalist Jon Mills of Kent, who shot a 54-hole score of 202 (71-66-65). Scott Volpitto finished tied for 27th with a 54-hole score of 215 (75-72-68) and Andy Doeden finished tied for 32nd with a 54-hole total of 216 (77-69-70). Freshman Jamie Kellam finished tied for 60th with a score of 220 (75-72-73) and Steve Shuert placed 136th with a 54-hole total of 236 (81-80-75).
