VCU HEAD COACH EVA BARD: "We knew we were not the 47th ranked team in
the country. We don't have a lot of depth on our team so when our
players have been hurt this year that has cost us terribly. Today all
six were healthy and you could see the results. They just competed
really well, with a lot of heart."
TCU HEAD COACH RONALD INGRAM: "I knew coming in that VCU was a very
good and underrated team. I said there were two underrated teams and
those were Arkansas and VCU and they both won their openers. I knew we
would have to play well to beat them and we did but they played well to
beat us. I wouldn't do a thing differently. They played better than we
did."
NOTES: Virginia Commonwealth advances to face the winner of Vanderbilt
