The TCU Horned Frogs return to Daniel-Meyer Coliseum for their final
non-conference tuneup prior to the start of the WAC season as they take on
the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions in a 7:05 p.m. contest on Saturday.
The Frogs (9-3) are coming off a 92-78 win over Texas Tech in the nightcap
of the Fort Worth Classic, held Thursday at the Fort Worth Convention
Center. Senior center Derrick Davenport had his biggest game of the season,
narrowly missing a triple-double with a season-high 24 points, 15 rebounds
and nine blocked shots. Greedy Daniels came off the bench to add 20 points,
as five players reached double figures in scoring. Myron Anthony (15), Ryan
Carroll (12) and Thomas McTyer (11) also scored in double digits for TCU.
The difference in the game came at the free throw line where TCU hit
24-of-31 free throws, compared to just 8-of-19 for Tech. It was the Frogs
fourth straight victory over the Big 12's Red Raiders in a series that dates
back to 1932.
Head coach Billy Tubbs has the Frogs playing "Billy Ball," again this
season, a style that uses an aggressive, pressing defense and an attacking
offense. The Frogs are the nation's top scoring team at 98.0 points per game
and have been over the 100-point plateau six times in their 12 games this
season, including a season-high 141 in a win over Central Oklahoma. Since
Coach Tubbs took over the TCU program in 1994, the Frogs are 50-1 when they
score 100 or more points. Now in his 27th season as a head coach, Tubbs has
compiled an overall record of 568-274, including a 129-72 mark since coming
to Fort Worth.
TCU will be in action again on Thursday, January 4, when they open
conference action against Hawaii. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. at
Daniel-Meyer. The four-game homestand concludes on Saturday, January 6, when
TCU hosts San Jose State in another Western Athletic Conference battle. Game
time at Daniel-Meyer is again set for 7:05 p.m.

SCOUTING ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF
The Golden Lions of Arkansas-Pine Bluff are looking for their first victory
of the season as they enter the contest with an 0-7 mark. All seven of their
contests have been on the road, as their only scheduled home game vs.
Arkansas-Little Rock was postponed. They have lost at Mississippi, Baylor,
Alabama, New Mexico State, UTEP, SMU and Drake. Their average margin of loss
has been 48.7 points as they are averaging 51.0 points per game while
surrendering 99.7 points per contest.
The Golden Lions are led by junor forward Jeremy Jefferson. The 6-7,
190-pounder is averaging a double-double, as he checks in with 10.7 points
and 10.6 rebounds per game. He is the only player in double figures in
either category for Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
The Golden Lions were 6-21 last season, including a 5-13 mark in the
Southwestern Athletic Conference. They are coached by Harold Blevins, who is
in his sixth season at the helm at Pine Bluff, a school of approximately
3,000 students. Blevins has a career record of 33-103, all at Pine Bluff.
This is the first meeting ever on the hardwood between these two schools.
TUBBS HAS "KILLER" INSTINCT
TCU head coach Billy Tubbs has recorded 129 victories since taking over the
top post in Fort Worth. He is just one win shy of matching Jim
Killingsworth's mark of 130 victories. Killer currently ranks second on
the Frogs' all-time wins list behind only Buster Brannon's school record 206
wins. Killingworth needed 236 games to record 130 wins, while Tubbs has
coached just 201 games at TCU.
STREAKING FROGS
TCU has won its last 11 games at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum since a 101-96
setback to Fresno State on January 20, 2000. Here are the top five home
court winning streaks in TCU history:

BALANCED ATTACK
The Frogs have four players averaging over 14 points per game. Senior Ryan

right behind at 14.9. Derrick Davenport chipped in a season high 24 points
in a win over Texas Tech and is fourth on the list at 14.1 points per game.
BOMBS AWAY
TCU has launched 30 or more shots from beyond the arc five times this
season, including a school record 36 three-point attempts in the win over
Central Oklahoma. To put that in perspective, coming into the season they
had recorded just seven games in which they put up 30 or more three-pointers
in their history (four coming last season). Through 12 games they have taken
304 three-point shots, an average of 25.3 attempts per game. They've hit 116
of those three-pointers, 38.2 percent accuracy, or an average of 9.7 made
three-pointers per game. Greedy Daniels (86), Ryan Carroll (79), Bingo

51 times since Coach Tubbs took over the program in 1994. The Frogs are 50-1
when scoring 100 or more points since Tubbs came aboard. The lone loss was a
111-104 setback to Baylor on Feb. 14, 1995. Last season, TCU averaged 87.9
points per game to rank second in the nation. The Horned Frogs led the
nation in scoring in both 1995 and 1998 and have led the WAC in scoring in
all four years in which they've been members of the conference.

Ryan Carroll continues his assault on the TCU all-time scoring list. He has
scored 225 points this season, an average of 18.8 points per game. In the
