Head coach James Winchester announced the hiring of Graydon Tedder as an assistant coach for the TCU swimming & diving programs in Summer 2022.
Most recently under the help of Tedder, TCU earned 14 medals at the Big 12 Championships, as both the men’s and women’s team took home fourth-place finishes. Filip Suchanski went on to the NCAA Championships, where he competed in the 200 back and 400 IM. A total of 17 student-athletes from the program went on to garner All-Big 12 honors for the 2024-25 season.
During the 2023-24 campaign, the Horned Frogs swept the National Invitational Championship, winning both the men’s and women’s title for the first time in its program history. TCU then went on two have two athletes represent them in the Summer Olympics for the first time since 2016, as Rhanishka Gibbs and Jadon Wuilliez took their talents to Paris.
Tedder's first season in Fort Worth was historic with three TCU athletes competing in the NCAA Championships. David Ekdahl and Jadon Wuilliez both competed in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard and 100 breaststroke, respectively. Alec Hubbard finished in 22nd place in the platform becoming the highest finishing diver at the NCAA Championships in TCU history.
Prior to joining the Horned Frogs, Tedder served as the Associate Head Coach at Cal State Bakersfield. While with the Roadrunners, he was responsible for 10 individual school records, nine individual conference champions and three National Invitational Champions. He also coached two CSCAA Scholar All-Americans, two Olympic Trials qualifiers and an NCAA qualifier.
Before Cal State Bakersfield, he was the head coach and executive director of Roadrunner Aquatics. He coached two members of the Junior National Team who represented the United States at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships and the Junior World Championships. He also was responsible for four individual Junior National Champions.
Tedder's first head coaching role came with the Sharks Aquatic Club where he coached the first Junior National Qualifier since 2007. He also served as a member of the United States National Junior Team in 2015 and 2016.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of South Carolina where he was a member of the varsity swim team for four seasons. He also has his Master of Education in Educational Psychology with a focus in Positive Coaching from the University of Missouri.
