Knappe competed in nine tournaments during his rookie campaign where he recorded three finishes in the top-20 this past season... finished ninth overall at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate where he recorded a 54-hole score of 222 (78-71-73)... finished 19th overall in his collegiate debut at the UH Hilo Intercollegiate where he notched a three-round score of 219 (72-76-71)... finished tied for 20th overall at the Mountain West Conference Championships with a tournament score of 216 (69-75-72), including a career-best 69 in the first round of action, en route to helping the Frogs claim their first conference crown since the 2004-05 season... recorded four rounds of sub-70 in his first season with the team, which ranked him second on the team... finished tied for 32nd overall at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational with a score of 217 (69-74-74).

Amateur Highlights
The native of Germany participated in the British Amateur Open in South Ayrshire, Scotland, where he finished 194th overall with a score of 158 (77-81)... accumulated a standout junior career throughout Europe where he was ranked second in the German Amateur Golf Rankings following the 2007 campaign... earned silver medal honors at the International German Amateur Championships in each of the last three seasons... notched his best finish of the 2008 campaign at the Dixie Amateur where he finished seventh overall after firing a four-round tally of 286 (77-72-70-67), including a tournament-best score of 67 in the final round of action... captured eight individual titles during his career, including five consecutive gold medals at the Home Golf Club Championship.
