PURPLE WITH PURPOSE
Purple With Purpose is a study abroad project created to introduce student-athletes to international experiences in culture and learning. Its partnerships include non-government agencies in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The inaugural 2017 program was facilitated in Panama with the Children of Darien, while the 2018 program occurred in the Dominican Republic with Esperanza, Inc. These agencies provide financial and non-financial services to the less fortunate, and student-athletes physically or visually participated in the distribution of services. (2017 Program Information) Ten to 14 student-athletes participate in the program each year and are led by administrators, coaches and alumni. Purple with Purpose was made possible through the support of G. Malcolm Louden and the Walsh Foundation.
