TCU Falters on the Road at UCF, 21-13

ORLANDO, Fla. – TCU couldn't get much going offensively and were setback by penalties and turnovers in a 21-13 loss to UCF on Saturday afternoon at Acrisure Bounce House.
Jaden Craig was 25-40 for 310 yards, but threw two interceptions. Jordan Dwyer made his return for the Frogs and eclipsed 100 yards in the loss. On the ground, TCU mustered just 33 yards.
The defense played well and were led by Jamel Johnson who had 10 tackles. The Knights were held under 300 yards and just posted 160 through the air.
UCF opened the scoring by taking advantage of an opening drive fumble by the Frogs to take a 7-0 lead. TCU wouldn't waste much time to generate a response though, quickly moving down the field thanks to a deep ball to Jordan Dwyer and Payne punched it in to tie it.
After the defenses stood tall for the ensuing possessions, the Frogs were finally able to gain the lead by way of a field goal midway through the second quarter.
The TCU advantage was short-lived, however, as the Knights moved right down the field to find the end zone and the lead.
In the third quarter, TCU controlled 9:45 of game action on a 15-play drive that ended in a field goal to cut the lead to just one entering the fourth.
Following with the theme of the game, UCF found a response by finding the end zone early in the final stanza to extend its lead to eight.
Driving late but facing a third-and-long, an errant pass from Craig ended up in the hands of the UCF defender to all-but-seal the contest.
NOTING THE GAME
TCU has scored in 424 consecutive games, the second-longest streak in NCAA history behind Florida (476) ... The Horned Frogs failed to score on the opening offensive possession for the first time this season. TCU also allowed a touchdown on their opening defensive possession for the first time this season ... Jordan Dwyer posted his 10th career 100-yard receiving game, fourth most among active FBS players.
