Horned Frogs tied for second ahead of final round
NORMAN, Okla. – The team and individual championships of the 2026 Schooner Fall Classic are within the grasp of TCU women's golf.
The Horned Frogs brought their 36-hole total to 13 strokes under par (547) following round two of the annual invitational Sunday at Belmar Golf Club. TCU, which checked in at No. 27 in the Golfweek preseason rankings, signed for a three-under 277 in the second round of play on the plains. TCU will enter Monday's final round tied with tournament host Oklahoma.
TCU broke its program record for low-36 hole total with Sunday's performance.
A three-stroke swing is all that separates the Horned Frogs from first-place Iowa State. The Cyclones shot a 267 (-13) to assume a six-shot lead over the 16-team field.
Camille Min-Gaultier and Kirstin Angosta are challenging for medalist honors in conjunction with TCU's quest to capture the Schooner for the first time. Min-Gaultier and Angosta are tied for third place at six-under (134) after carding a pair of 68's in round two.
Xin Yao Wang (Virginia Tech) and Satonkan Theingsri (Oklahoma) share the individual lead at seven-under 135.
TCU began the day with a two-stroke advantage over No. 17 Iowa State. The Horned Frogs maintained positioning with the Cyclones on the front nine. Behind a quartet of birdies from Gracie McGovern, TCU entered the turn 16 strokes under par after posting a collective six-under 138.
In a twist of fate from Saturday's opening round, the back nine proved more difficult. No Horned Frog scored under par. TCU picked up three strokes across holes 16-18. Round one saw TCU separate from the pack. TCU closed 13 of its 23 birdies on the second half of the par-70 course.
Min-Gaultier moved to fourth outright in school history for career sub-70's (17). She was bogey-free until the 16th hole on Sunday. Her two bogeys for the tournament are the fewest of any player. Min-Gaultier has now shot par or better in nearly half of her career rounds as a Frog (37-75).
Both Min-Gaultier and Angosta played the front nine two strokes under par (34).
Angosta continued a stellar run of form that was spawned during her eventual run to the 2026 NCAA National Championships. One of two TCU seniors, Angosta, has been par or better in 12 of her last 17 rounds played dating back to the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate Invitational in March.
McGovern birdied four holes on the front nine en route to a one-under 69. She is tied for 39th at one-over 141. The defending Schooner Fall Classic champion, McGovern's five birdies topped TCU's ledger on day two
Competing as an individual, Sofie Dimitrova sits T46 (+3) after finishing three strokes over par on Saturday.
TCU will tee off alongside the Cyclones and Sooners at 8:30 a.m. on Monday on holes one through three.
