Douglas Punches Ticket to NCAA Outdoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – TCU track and field's Jayden Douglas punched his ticket to the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the 400m hurdles on Friday at John McDonnell Field.
Racing in the final heat, Douglas turned in a gutsy performance. Coming down the homestretch, the junior started cramping up. In a photo-finish, he lunged for the finish line, diving across just two hundredths ahead of the next closest runner. Douglas' all-out effort ended up being the difference maker as he secured the final qualifier spot with a time of 50.03.
In the 800m, Mohamed Kowa ran a strong race. The senior finished 12th overall with a time of 1:46.93; however, he did not advance to the national meet as the top three athletes in each heat plus the next three fastest move on.
Ronnie Kendrick rounded out his sophomore campaign with a 46.73 in the 400m, and freshman Ashvin Balaramana capped off his first year as a Frog clearing 2.07m (6-9½) in the high jump.
TCU closed out the meet with a 13th place finish in the 4x400m relay, narrowly missing out on a ticket to Eugene. Evander Thomas, Kendrick, Colton Conyers and Dominic Byles turned in a time of 3:05.99.
