
Jepkemboi Earns Bronze at NCAA Outdoor Championships; Six Frogs Collect All-American Honors

EUGENE, Ore. – For the second year in a row, TCU's Irene Jepkemboi took home the bronze medal in the javelin throw at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.
The junior and three-time Big 12 champion in the event quickly took the lead with her second throw of the night at 59.91m. Holding onto the top spot into the final round, two competitor launched throws of over 60m. Jepkemboi matched them both with a 60.16m (197-4) mark to finish third overall.
Five other Horned Frogs joined Jepkemboi earning All-American honors. Na'Taja Ballard, Bailey Johnson, London Tucker and Indya Mayberry received second team nods as members of the 4x100m relay and Georgia Scott secured second team recognition in the 800m.
The night started with the women's 4x100m. TCU's squad turned in a time of 43.57 to finish third in their heat and 14th overall.
Just an hour and a half after running the relay, Mayberry came back for her individual event. Running the 100m dash, she crossed the finish line in 11.20 to place 18th.
Scott capped off her stellar outdoor season with a school record performance in the 800m. The junior took over half a second off her personal best from the NCAA West First Round, posting a 2:00.90. She finished fourth in her heat and 13th in the nation.
Jayden Douglas will wrap up competition for the Frogs at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Friday at 8:27 p.m. CT in the 400m hurdles final.
