Noah Franco and Traeger homer for the Horned Frogs
WACO, Texas – Baylor scored a run in all four of its final offensive innings in rallying to hand TCU a 10-4 loss on Friday night at Baylor Ballpark. Noah Franco and Nolan Traeger homered for the Horned Frogs in the loss.
The Rundown
TCU opened the scoring in the second inning. Brady Dallimore reached on a misplayed double to right to lead off the inning. Jack Bell grounded out to drive in Dallimore for a 1-0 lead.
Baylor answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the inning. With the bases loaded and one out, a sacrifice fly knotted the game at one.
Noah Franco homered to lead off the fourth inning. Dallimore followed with a triple and scored on a Nolan Traeger ground out to give TCU a 3-1 advantage.
Baylor took the lead for good with a three spot in the sixth. Three straight hits opened the inning and all three scored. The go-ahead run came around on a two-out single. A lead-off walk in the seventh turned into another Baylor run and a 5-3 lead.
Traeger pulled the Frogs within one with a lead-off home run in the seventh, but again Baylor answered in the bottom of the frame. Four walks in the inning gifted the Bears a 6-4 lead. Baylor put the game out of reach with five runs in the eighth inning.
Trever Baumler (1-3) took the loss after allowing four runs on six hits in four-plus innings of work. He didn't walk a batter and struck out five.
