Horned Frogs defeat trio of ranked teams behind two-under final round
HUMBLE, Texas – TCU strengthened its bid for a berth in the NCAA Tournament come May in the final round of the Chevron Collegiate on Tuesday at the Golf Club of Houston
The Horned Frogs carded a two-under 286 and climbed two spots up the leaderboard to tie No. 6 Arkansas for sixth place. TCU concluded the 54-hole affair one stroke over par (865).
Buoyed by the strong finish, TCU defeated three teams ahead of it in the national rankings in No. 11 Mississippi State, No. 32 Houston and No. 39 Indiana.
"Really proud of our consistency from start to finish," said head coach Angie Larkin. "We did such a good job with our awareness and adjustments with the wind each day. We were extremely focused and disciplined from the moment we arrived. The team really gelled all week."
Three Frogs shot a 71 (-1) in round three, among them Camille Min-Gaultier, who tied for 11th at two-under 214. The 2025 All-American notched her 30th career par or better round and 10th consecutive top-20 finish dating back to March of 2025. Min-Gaultier finished as TCU's top performer for the fifth time in seven events thus far in the 2025-26 campaign.
Kirstin Angosta and Sofie Dimitrova matched Min-Gaultier's final round scorecard. Angosta capped her stay in Space City at even par and tied for 20th after ascending 11 spots up the leaderboard. Dimitrova was the Horned Frogs' largest riser, as she began the day tied for 41st and exited the clubhouse tied for 28th. She finished one stroke back of Angosta.
Angosta and Dimitrova were two of three TCU players to post their low round score for the tournament in the final round. The third was freshman Yvette O'Brien, who fired a one-over 73.
Sofia Barroso Sá moved to second on TCU's all-time records lists for career birdies (358) after rattling off a trio in round three. The senior was one of four players to close three birdies on a day TCU recorded 14.
