
Rifle Turns In Solid Score at NCAA Qualifier

Zaun leads all shooters in the match
COLORADO SPRING, Colo. – TCU solidified its spot in the upcoming NCAA National Championship match with a solid score of 4,741 in the NCAA Qualifier at Air Force. The Horned Frogs fired a 2,353 in smallbore and a 2,388 in air rifle to take the win over the Falcons.
Horned Frogs filled up the leaderboard as TCU boasted seven of the top 10 aggregate scores in the match. Katie Zaun led all shooters with an aggregate of 1,189. Rylie Passmore (1,185), Christina Hillinger (1,184), Mikole Hogan (1,183) and Marissa Fedora (1,181) rounded out the top 5. Alexandra Rosenlew and Mackenzie Kring fired identical marks of 1,176 to finish seventh and eighth, respectively.
In smallbore, the Frogs posted the top six scores. Factoring in the team score were Zaun (592), Passmore (590), Hogan (587) and Rosenlew (584). Hillinger finished fourth among shooters with a 587, while Fedora turned in a 583 to finish sixth.
The top four air rifle scores came courtesy of TCU shooters. Fedora matched her career high with a match-best 598. Zaun and Hillinger each contributed a 597 to the team score and Hogan rounded out the counting scores with a 596. Not factoring into the team total was Kring's 597 and Passmore's 595.
Air Force fired a 2,313 in smallbore and a 2,380 in air rifle to account for its final score of 4,693. Lily Miller was the Falcons top shooter as she finished sixth with an aggregate score of 1,179.
The field of eight for the National Championship match will be announced on Monday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com The match is set for March 13-14 at Ohio State.
