Beauchamp finishes tied for third
PALMAS DEL MAR, Puerto Rico – TCU finished as runner-up on Tuesday at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate in Puerto Rico.
The Horned Frogs (-20) began the round tied with No. 25 Wake Forest. The Frogs shot 7-under in the final round, but the Demon Deacons (-26) shot 13-under to win the tournament by six strokes.
Jack Beauchamp tied for third place at 7-under 209, his second-best finish of the season. It was his third top 10 finish this year and fifth-straight finish in the top 20. Beauchamp capped off the tournament by shooting even-par 72.
Freshman Sam Udovich also had his second-best result of the season finishing tied for seventh at 6-under 210. He was 1-under 71 in the final round.
Freshman Nathan Miller earned his third top 20 finish of the year going 3-under 213. Toby Wilt finished one stroke behind Miller at 2-under 214 and tied for 20th. Wilt had his best round of the tournament at 3-under 69.
Competing as an individual, Charlie Wylie tied for 23rd place, a season best. He finished 1-under 215 following his final round score of 4-under 68, the best of any Horned Frog. Hudson Wilt finished one stroke behind Wylie at 1-over 217.
TCU will return to action on Monday when play begins at the Watersound invitational in Panama City Beach, Fla.
