FORT WORTH- The TCU women's tennis team will travel to Waco, Texas to compete in the 2025 Big 12 Tennis Championship at the Hurd Tennis Center.
The Horned Frogs enter the tournament as the No. 9 seed and will take on the No. 16 Houston Cougars in the opening round on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
FROG FOCUS
The Frogs finished the 2025 regular season 12-10 and 7-5 in conference play, tied for their most wins in the Big 12 since joining the conference. TCU is coming off of a loss in Waco to Baylor.
The match started in doubles, where Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual defeated No. 30 Kostenko and Tiglea to earn their tenth conference win of the season. They finish the regular season 12-6 overall, and 10-1 in conference play. The Bears fought back, with a win on court three by Dong and Yu. Baylor ended up clinching the doubles point on court two with a 7-6 (3) win by Zuza and Sierra over Narmont and Tsai.
Baylor extended their lead to 2-0 via a retirement by Cayetana Gay on court six. A win by Na on court four extended Baylor's lead to 3-0.
The Bears clinched the match with a win on court one to win 4-0.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
The Houston Cougars enter the tournament ranked No. 16, ending the season 4-15 and 1-12 in conference play. The Cougars last win came March 30th with a 4-2 win at home over the Cincinnati Bearcats.
This will be the 37th matchup between the Cougars and Horned Frogs, with the Frogs winning the last ten matchups.
