
TCU Turns In Solid Score At Georgia Southern

TCU shoots a season-high in smallbore, aggregate
STATESBORO, Ga. – No. 3 TCU turned in season-high marks in smallbore (2,353) and aggregate (4,733) score en route to a second-place finish at No. 5 Georgia Southern. Katie Zaun led all shooters with an aggregate mark of 1,188 with 92 center shots.
The Horned Frogs had five of the top 10 shooters in the match. After Zaun's first place finish, Marissa Fedora finished sixth (1,184) followed by Alexandra Rosenlew (1,183) in seventh. Rylie Passmore finished ninth (1,182) and Micah Hames rounded out the top 10 with an 1,180.
TCU and Georgia Southern went toe-to-toe in smallbore, but it was the Eagles that came out on top, 2,355-2,353. For the Frogs, the 2,353 mark is their best score of the season and ties for 14th all-time in program history.
Zaun paced the Frogs and finished second among all shooters with a 593. It's the 23rd time in her career she has eclipsed the 590 mark in the discipline. Fedora contributed a 589, Passmore a 586 and Hames a 585 to account for the team score. Also serving as a counter was Mikole Hogan, who shot a 574. Making her collegiate debut in smallbore was Alexandra Rosenlew, who shot a 590.
In air rifle, the Frogs fired a 2,380 and posted six of the top 10 marks, while Georgia Southern fired a 2,389 and recorded the top four scores in the discipline.
TCU was led by Passmore's 596. Zaun, Fedora and Hames fired identical marks of 595 to account for the team score. Hogan and Mackenzie Kring each shot a 594. Christina Hillinger fired a season-high 594.
Georgia Southern was lead by Tori Watts in smallbore (590) and Bremen Butler in air rifle (599). Akron's Natalia Siek led all shooters in smallbore with a 594, while Rachael Paddock was the top air rifle shooter with a 592. The Zips finished third in the match with an aggregate of 4,674.
TCU returns to action on Oct. 19 at UTEP.
