Cross Country Wraps up Competition at Big 12 Championship

LAWRENCE, Kan. – TCU cross country began its postseason journey on Friday morning, racing at the 2025 Big 12 Championship meet.
Running in a stacked field at Kansas' Rim Rock Park, the Distance Frogs turned in a ninth-place finish on the men's side and a 13th place result for the women.
Leading the way for the TCU men was junior Johnson Lagat. The Kapsabet, Kenya, native crossed the finish line in 37th place with a time of 23:54.8 in the 8k. He was closely followed by teammate Mohammed Kowa, who also logged a top-50 finish, placing 44th with a time of 24:23.1. Rounding out the top five runners for the Frogs were CJ Meyer (68th, 25:07.8), Drew Oliver (78th, 25:26.9) and Brayden Schick (79th, 25:27.9).
Chachi Gonzales led the women for TCU, registering a 49th place result. Competing in a 6k race, she posted a time of 21:06.4. Gabby Martin (79th, 22:06.6), Kate Selover (93rd, 22:28.6), Olivia Andrews (102nd, 22:38.9) and Camryn Kirkland (108th, 22:47.3) all followed and contributed to the Frogs' total team score.
TCU cross country heads to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the NCAA South Central Regional Championships on Nov. 14, for the next stage of postseason racing.
