
Triathlon Finishes First in Season Opener

The Horned Frogs scored 203 points to earn the team victory.
FORT WORTH – The Horned Frogs opened up their 2024 season with a win at the Southern Hills Triathlon in Hot Springs, S.D., hosted by Black Hills State. Annabella Veltcheva led the way with a time of 33:11, placing in seventh individually.
TCU tallied 203 points as a team, just nearly beating Denver who scored 202 points. South Dakota ended with 199 points, Arizona had 183 points, Colorado Mesa had 126 points, and Black Hills State tallied 91 points.
2021 DI Individual National Champion, Kira Gupta-Baltazar, finished ninth with a 33:20. Freshman Marley Andelman was 11th (33:45), Jenna Buchanan placed 12th (33:45), and Maria Coral finished 13th (33:56).
