
Jepkemboi Named First Team All-American

Her fourth-place finish makes her the first women's javelin All-American in program history
EUGENE, Ore. – Irene Jepkemboi garnered First Team All-American honors on Day Two of the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.
Jepkemboi placed fourth overall in the javelin with her throw of 56.51m (185-4). The freshman is TCU's first-ever All-American in the women's javelin in program history.
Iyana Gray earned a spot in Saturday's 100m finals. The junior placed third in her heat and qualified on time with her personal-best 11.18.
Gray was also tabbed a Second Team All-American in the 200m. She finished 11th overall and narrowly missed the finals with her time of 22.74.
The 4x100 relay of Teanna Harlin, Mikayla Hayes, Dreunna Washington and Gray ran a season-best 43.39 to finish 11th overall and earn Second Team All-American honors.
Harlin also earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 200m as she placed 21st with her time of 23.27.
Also being named a Second Team All-American was Gracie Morris. The senior ran a 4:10.72 in the 1500m to place 16th overall. Maria Bienvenu finished 17th overall with her throw of 50.52m (165-9) in the javelin for Honorable Mention All-America honors.
Joel McFarlane capped off a stellar two days in the decathlon with a 20th-place finish. In his second consecutive NCAA Outdoor Championships, McFarlane took 20th in the 110mH (15.55) while also throwing a personal-best 40.99m (134-5) in the discus.
His height of 4.11m (13-5.75) was good for 22nd in the pole vault and he finished 14th in the javelin with his mark of 51.72m (169-8). He ended the two-day event with a 15th-place finish in the 400m and earned 7,216 points over two days to garner Honorable Mention All-America honors.
