FROG FOCUS
No. 6 TCU started their season 4-0 and are fresh off a clean weekend at the Third Coast College Classic in Houston. The Horned Frogs collected their first two ranked wins of the season against then-No. 15 Washington (4-1) and No. 6 LSU (3-2). Additionally, TCU notched two sweeps against Central Arkansas and HCU
The Frogs still remain the best in the Lone Star state – now boasting a record of 37-0 against teams in Texas after their sweep over the Huskies.
Individually, Hailey Hamlett, Anhelina Khmil and Morgan Williams locked in their own perfect 4-0 weekend. With the duo recording all four match-clinching points in Houston, Hamlett and Khmil were crowned the CUSA Pair of the Week (Feb. 27).
Williams and Emma Glagau start their freshman campaign with two ranked wins under their belt. Keagan Polk also notched the third ranked win of her career and continues a win streak of 13 matches from her 10-0 record last season.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
After an almost perfect weekend at the Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic, in Honolulu, Hawai'i (Feb. 22-24), the Cardinal jumped from No. 7 to No. 2 in this week's AVCA rankings. Stanford downed then-No. 5 LMU, No. 1 USC, No. 9 Hawaii and No. 2 UCLA. However, in a rematch against the Bruins, the Cardinal came up short in the finals. In TCU's all-time history, the Frogs lead Stanford 3-0.
Oregon is a new foe for the Frogs. The Ducks travel to Stanford after a 1-4 start to their season at the Green Wave Invitational in Elmwood, La. The team saw its first victory after beating Southeastern Louisiana, 3-2.
Another new match-up for TCU is Saint Mary's. The Gaels are coming off of a 1-1 weekend at Berkley, Cali., where they saw their first win of the season, 4-1, against Santa Clara.
UC Davis is also coming off a 4-0 weekend at home. The Aggies went up against Pacific and Utah, sweeping Pacific twice and Utah once. In all-time history, the Frogs hold a 2-0 lead over UC Davis.
