Gupta-Baltazar and Moro Named to CTCA All-Region Team

The duo finished in the top seven of last weekend's Eastern Regional.
FORT WORTH – Amanda Moro and Kira Gupta-Baltazar of the TCU triathlon team were named to the CTCA Division 1 All-Region Team, the association announced Tuesday. The duo finished in the top seven of the Eastern Regionals, which took place last Saturday, Oct. 12.
Gupta-Baltazar led the way for the Frogs in fifth with a time of 59:28, her best finish of the season. Moro followed behind in sixth, clocking in a 59:47.
Moro has competed in three races so far this season, finishing in the top-10 of each one. Her best finish came at the Duquesne University Invitational where she placed third behind Jenna Buchanan. At Battle in the Fort, Moro came in ninth place with the fastest time for TCU that afternoon.
Gupta-Baltazar has had one other top-10 finish this season, placing ninth at the Southern Hills Triathlon in August.
TCU saw eight top-20 finishers in their second place finish at Eastern Regionals last weekend. The Horned Frogs tallied 620 points as a team, falling behind first-place finisher, Queens University of Charlotte who had 638 points.
The Frogs will travel to the west coast next to race in the Bearathlon on Sunday, Oct. 27. Following their California trip, they will prepare for the National Championships on Nov. 9 in Clermont, Fl.
