Hubbard Earns NCAA Championship Spot

Divers wrap up Zones; Swim Completes day 1 of NIC's
Minneapolis, Minnesota: Horned Frog divers finished their final day of the Zone D Diving championships in style at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.
Alec Hubbard is on his way back to nationals after an outstanding performance on platform. Hubbard finished the final day of the NCAA Zone D diving Championship in fifth place clinching a spot at the NCAA National Championships.
The sophomore placed seventh overall in the preliminaries with a score of 346.15. That placement earned him a spot in the afternoon finals.
In the finals, Hubbard scored 728.55 which to advanced him to nationals for the second consecutive year.
In her first apperance at the Zone D Diving Championship Lauren Cey qualifies for the finals coming up just short of a NCAA appearance.
The TCU swim team wrapped up day one of the National Invitational Championships in Elkhart, Indiana. Three Frogs finished day one with some hardware.
The Horned Frogs were scattered tin the NIC finals with 15 total participating in evening action.
In the women's 50 fly, sophomore Jeanne Dahmen capped off a stellar season with the gold medal swimming 24.02. Olivia Rhodes also stood tall on the podium with a third-place performance in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.90. Finally, Raphael Paiva Da Lima wrapped up day one placing third in the men's 50 breaststroke, clocking in at 24.25.
Up Next: The Frogs will compete in day two of the NIC Championships Friday, March 9. Prelims will begin at 9:30 a.m. and finals will follow at 6 p.m.
