TCU Beach Volleyball travels to Hawaii for the first time since 2016
FORT WORTH -- No. 3 TCU beach volleyball (9-0) travels to Honolulu Hawaii to take part in the Outrigger Queen's Cup March 10-12. The Horned Frogs will face four teams, in including 2 ranked in the top 10, Nebraska, No. 10 California, UC Davis and No. 9 Hawaii.

FROG FOCUS
The Horned Frogs are coming off a perfect 5-0 showing at the Horned Frog Challenge in Fort Worth. TCU defeated four ranked opponents, No. 18 South Carolina, No. 16 Stetson, No. 19 Georgia State, and its biggest win in program history, No. 3 Florida State.
The victories last weekend improved the greatest start to a TCU season to 9-0. The Frogs won all five home matches this weekend, extending its home winning streak to 20 matches, dating back to the 2020 season (March 6, 2020). The Horned Frogs are 6-0 against ranked opponents this season, the longest streak in program history. TCU beat all four ranked opponents this weekend in consecutive matches, marking the most consecutive wins over ranked opponents ever achieved by TCU.
The Frogs depth was the difference maker all last weekend. TCU posted a perfect 15-0 record from the No. 5, No. 4 and No. 3 pairings across all five matches. Alexis Filippone and Hailey Hamlett (4-0), Maria Gonzalez and Ana Vergara (4-0), and Megan Muret and Rochelle Scott (4-0) all delivered 4-0 weekends with Muret and Hamlett finishing with five wins each.
Muret/Scott won all four of their matches in straight sets last weekend. The duo has not dropped a set all season (14-0), posting a 7-0 record. Muret, herself, leads TCU with a 9-0 record in her matches this year. The senior transfer from UCLA has won all 18 of her sets this season.
Hamlett won all five of her matches this weekend, playing four matches with Filippone at No. 3. Hamlett is 8-1 in her first season of college competition. The New Braunfels, Texas native clinched the match against No. 3 Florida State, with Filippone, winning in three sets: 19-21, 21-17, 15-8.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Nebraska enters play, 5-4, coming off a 2-0 victory at home hosting Oklahoma Wesleyan and Ottawa. The Huskers topped Oklahoma Wesleyan 5-0 and Ottawa 4-1. Their toughest loss came from No. 17 Florida International last weekend in Jacksonville, Florida, 0-5. Nebraska has yet to beat a ranked opponent this season.
No. 10 California, 5-1, comes to Hawaii after two big wins in Davis, California. The Golden Bears took down San Jose State 5-0 and UC Davis 4-1. Cal's biggest ranked win of the season was against No. 15 Long Beach State 3-2 during opening weekend at the Irvine Valley College Beach Volleyball Courts.
UC Davis, 3-1, travels to Hawaii after playing its first official home duals of the season against San Jose State and No. 10 California. The Aggies split matches falling to the Golden Bears, 4-1, and defeating the Spartans 5-0. UC Davis has yet to beat a ranked opponent this season.
No. 9 Hawaii, 6-3, hosts its second home tournament this season coming off a 4-0 sweep at the Cactus Classic in Tucson, Arizona. The BeachBows took down Boise State, 5-0, Colorado Mesa, 5-0, Arizona State, 5-1 and No. 13 Arizona, 4-1. Hawaii's only losses come from ranked opponents No. 8 Stanford 1-4, No. 2 UCLA twice, both 1-4.
