
Miles Leads Frogs over Bears, 59-48

TCU will play No. 25 Iowa in the championship game on Saturday at 6 p.m.
NICEVILLE, Fla. – Mike Miles Jr. scored 23 points off the bench to lead the TCU men's basketball team over Cal, 59-48, its first game of the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla.
The junior guard, who had missed the previous two games with a left foot injury, scored 17 of his 23 in the second half. Miles shot 9-of-22 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
TCU (4-1) took its first lead of the game on a Micah Peavy jumper four minutes into the game. The junior forward finished eight points and a game-high nine rebounds. The Horned Frogs never trailed again and led 27-21 at the half after Rondel Walker made a layup at the buzzer.
TCU's lead stayed around a 10-point margin throughout the second half. The lead grew to as many as 14 after a pair of Shahada Wells free throws with five minutes to go to make the score 54-40. The Frogs shot 46.4 percent in the second half after shooting just 31.1 percent in the first. Call fell to 0-6 on the season.
