
Bright, Peterson Tabbed All-Americans

Duo recognized by United Soccer Coaches
FORT WORTH – TCU women's soccer student-athletes Messiah Bright and Brandi Peterson have been tabbed United Soccer Coaches Association All-Americans. Bright was named a first-team performer, while Peterson was named to the second team.
Bright, recently named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy Award, rewrote the single-season offensive record book for the Horned Frogs in 2021. She became TCU's first-ever 40-point scorer, tallying a school-record 17 goals and adding six assists on the year. Additionally, she completed her climb to the top of the career records and now owns the school-record for goals with 39 and points with 92. Her efforts on the pitch earned her first-team all-Big 12 honors. Twice she was named the Big 12 Player of the Week during the regular season. She was also key to TCU's run to the Big 12 Tournament title and a berth in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. She was named the Big 12 Tournament's Offensive Most Outstanding Player. In the NCAA Tournament, Bright scored a hat trick in the second round double overtime win over Princeton.
The 2021 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Peterson has anchored the TCU defense, earning five Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week awards. The Atlanta senior logged over 2,100 minutes on the pitch for the Frogs this season and was instrumental in helping TCU set a school record with 13 shutouts. She played the entirety of 17 matches this season. Offensively, she contributed two goals, including one game-winner, and five assists for nine points. TCU was one of the top defensive squads nationally this year, ranking ninth in goals against average (0.56) and fifth in save percentage (0.864).
TCU has produced five All-Americans the last two years. Bright and Peterson join the trio of Emily Alvarado, Grace Collins and Yazmeen Ryan to earn the prestigious accolade.
