
Kellett, Peterson Headline Big 12 Selections

Head coach Eric Bell named Coach of the Year
FORT WORTH – Lauren Kellett and Brandi Peterson headline a group 10 TCU Horned Frogs honored on the Big 12 All-Conference award selections. Lauren Kellett was named the Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Year, while Brandi Peterson was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Year. Head coach Eric Bell was voted as the Coach of the Year for the second straight season after leading the Frogs to their second consecutive regular season title.
Joining Kellett and Peterson on the first team were forward Messiah Bright, midfielder Gracie Brian and defender Jenna Winebrenner. Highlighting the second team for TCU were midfielder Payton Crews and forward Grace Collins. A trio of freshmen, Brenna Brosam, Camryn Lancaster and Oli Pena, were named to the Big 12 All-Freshmen team.
Bell was named Coach of the Year for a second-straight season, leading TCU to back-to-back regular season titles. The 10th-year head coach has led the Horned Frogs to five consecutive NCAA Tournaments. He has reached a couple milestones this season, reaching his 100th career coaching victory in addition to earning his 100th win as the TCU head coach.
Kellett has limited opponents to nine goals and combined for 11 shutouts this season. She set a school record with nine shutouts this season. The sophomore totaled 63 saves over 18 games this season, averaging 3.5 per match. She ranks fifth nationally in goals against average (0.49) and ninth in save percentage (.877).
Peterson has anchored the TCU defense, earning five Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week awards this season. The Atlanta senior has logged 1,557 minutes on the pitch for the Frogs during the regular season and has been instrumental in helping TCU set a school record with 11 shutouts. She has played the entirety of 14 matches this season. Offensively, she has contributed two goals, including one game-winner, and five assists for nine points.
Brian has had a strong junior campaign ranking fourth on the team with 18 points. One of six Horned Frogs to have played in and started all 19 games, Brian has tallied six goals and six assists. She has two game-winners and has played the entirety of seven games this season. She ranks third on the team with 1,589 minutes on the field.
Bright has racked up points and climb the career charts this season. She currently sits second all-time in career goals scored (32) and points (77). A two-time Big 12 Player of the Week honoree this season, Bright leads the team with 10 goals and 25 points. Along with her five assists, she has scored three game-winners while totaling 1,103 minutes in 19 games. In league play, she has tallied five goals and three assists for a team-leading 13 points.
Winebrenner has made an immediate impact since transferring to TCU from Notre Dame this season. She has played in and started all 19 games this year. She ranks second on the team with 1,634 minutes played and has been on the field for the entirety of 14 matches. TCU has notched a school-record 11 shutouts this season and has surrendered just nine goals this year.
Collins sits second on the team with 24 points. Her eight assists are tied for the team lead, while her eight goals rank second. She paces the squad with four game-winning goals. Collins has broken into to the career record book this season, ranking third in assists (18) and seventh in points (56).
Crews has been a rock in the midfield this season and a key cog in helping TCU post a school-record 11 shutouts. She has contributed a pair of assists this season while playing in and starting 17 games.
Brosam has been instrumental in the success of the back line this season. She has started 14 of 18 games played this season and totaled 1,145 minutes. TCU has registered 10 shutouts in her time on the field. Additionally, she contributed an assist in the win at Ohio State.
Lancaster has had a breakout season, ranking third on the squad with 22 points. She co-leads the team with eight assists and sits third with seven goals. Lancaster has played in all 19 games and made 10 starts while amassing 1,112 minutes on the field. She has also contributed two game-winning goals.
