Horned Frogs set school records in both disciplines
CHARLESTON, S.C. āĀ The No.1 ranked TCU women's rifle team put together a record-setting day on the range, firing a school-record 4,738 in a win at The Citadel. Along the way, TCU established a school records in smallbore (2,355).

For the fifth straight match Stephanie Grundsoee paced the field in both disciplines. She fired a 593 in smallbore, a mark that is tied for the seventh-best in program history. In air rifle, she shot a 598 to give her a match-best 1,191 aggregate score. Kristen Hemphill shined in both disciplines, establishing career-highs in smallbore (591), air rifle (597) and aggregate (1,188).Ā

TCU produced the top seven marks in smallbore, led by Grundsoee's 593. Following Hemphill's 591, Elizabeth Marsh finished third with a 588. Nina Schuett finished fourth after shooting a 584 and Abigail Gordon sat just behind with a mark of 583. Grace Taschuk (582) and Stephanie Allan (578) rounded out the top seven.

The Frogs continued their hot shooting in air rifle, once again producing the top six scores in the discipline. Grundsoee topped all shooters with a 598 followed by Hemphill's career-high 597. Schuett, serving as a counter for the first time in her collegiate debut, fired a career-high 596 to finish third. Gordon's 592 locked up the school-record as sat fourth among shooters.Ā
TCU will shoot a pair of matches next week. First up is a dual match at UTEP on Friday. The Horned Frogs and the Miners will then head to Colorado Springs for a triangular match at Air Force on Sunday.
