Rifle Heads To The Citadel Saturday

Horned Frogs are ranked No. 1 in the country
FORT WORTH – The No. 1-ranked TCU women's rifle team continues its furious start to the season Saturday when they travel to The Citadel. The Horned Frogs will take on The Citadel's mixed team as well as their women's squad. Match time is slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. at Inouye Marksmanship Center.
TCU sits tied atop the NCAA team standings with a three match aggregate score of 4,722.67. That mark is identical to Kentucky and Ole Miss. The Horned Frogs have fired three of the top seven aggregate scores in the country this season. TCU's season average aggregate score of 4,717.8 is second in the NCAA. The Frogs sit second in both disciplines, firing an average of 2,342.3 in smallbore and 2375.5 in air rifle.
Stephanie Grundsoee has been TCU's top shooter in all four matches this season. She ranks third in the NCAA in air rifle (597.8), second in smallbore (590.5) and second in aggregate. Kristen Hemphill sits sixth in smallbore (586.5) and seventh in aggregate (1,179.3).
Elizabeth Marsh matched her career high aggregate (1,184) tally twice last weekend at Alaska. She is averaging a 584.5 in smallbore and a 593.5 in air rifle this season. Abigail Gordon has been steady in both disciplines averaging a 579.0 in smallbore and a 590.5 in air rifle. Grace Taschuk has raised her scores in smallbore each time out and owns a 589.3 season average in air rifle.
The Bulldogs will be competing in their first match since Nov. 21. They participated in seven matches in the fall. Cameron Bates is The Citadel's top performer on the mixed squad while Riley Neiders paces the women's team.
