
Rogers Takes Gold At Baylor

WACO, Texas - Freshman Isaiah Rogers won the shot put and both the TCU men's and women's 4x100 relays took home silver Saturday at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco.
Rogers, a native of Smyrna, Ga., recorded the best mark of the day on his final attempt as he took home gold after recording a distance of 57 feet 11 1/4 inches (17.66 meters). Rogers won the event by 2 1/2 feet.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team of senior Raymond Bozmans, junior Emeilo Ferguson, sophomore Darrion Flowers and junior Jalen Millers put together a time of 39.35 for a second-place finish. Saturday's effort was just two-tenths of a second off their season best.
The women's 4x100 relay squad of senior Judy Emeodi, junior Sabrina Moore, junior Briona Oliver and sophomore Kayla Heard clocked in with a second-place time of 45.64 in their race, finishing behind Miami. Oliver also went on to record a personal best in the 100 meters for the second-straight week at 11.66.
In the 800 meters, junior Tiffany Terry logged a personal-best time of 2:10.01, placing third overall.
Sophomore Fellan McGuigan opened the day for the Horned Frogs with a third-place finish in the hammer throw. McGuigan threw a distance of 206 feet 9 inches (63.02 meters) on his fifth attempt, finishing behind a pair of seniors from Notre Dame and Miami.
In the women's hammer throw, junior Paola Miranda took home silver behind a mark of 180 feet 9 inches (55.10 meters).
Sophomore Lexi Aitken cleared the 100-meter hurdles in a personal-record and fourth-place time of 13.66 (w+2.2).
On the distance end, junior Nicole Hicks placed third and recorded a personal best in the 5,000-meter race, while junior Anna Cozart notched a personal best in the 1,500 meters.
Up next, the Frogs will travel to Austin, Texas for the Longhorn Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
