Aitken Shines On First Day At Texas Relays

March 30, 2017 AUSTIN, Texas -- Sophomore Lexi Aitken opened the 90th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, presented by Spectrum, with a spark for the Horned Frogs as she logged a personal-best time in the 400-meter hurdles in Austin, Texas, on Thursday.
Aitken finished with the ninth-fastest time at 58.86, earning a spot in tomorrow's 7 p.m. finals. With her latest performance, Aitken has eclipsed her career-best time in two-straight competitions. This time, she edged her previous best by .74 seconds.
On the throwing side, junior Paola Miranda placed ninth in the women's hammer with a distance of 184 feet 9 inches (56.32 meters), and sophomore Fellan McGuigan recorded a season-best mark in the men's hammer throw at 203 feet 4 inches (61.99 meters).
The Frogs will return to action Friday morning at 9 a.m. with the 4x100-meter relay. The meet will be broadcast live on the Longhorn Network and online at WatchESPN.com.
