Newton Places 12th At Nationals

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Scotty Newton finished 12th in the triple jump at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in College Station on Saturday.
Newton logged a mark of 50 feet 10.75 inches (15.51 meters) on his first attempt, and that distance held on to garner Second-Team All-America honors.
Newton and the Horned Frogs will return to action as they host the TCU Invitational on Friday and Saturday, March 17-18, at the Lowdon Track & Field Complex in Fort Worth.
