TCU will feature defending NCAA 60-meter champion Ronnie Baker as he begins his senior season. The nine-time All-American set a school record at the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships after posting a time of 6.52 seconds, becoming the No. 3 all-time performer at the national meet.
"I'm looking forward to seeing Ronnie start his senior campaign," TCU director of track and field Darryl Anderson said. "He's already placed himself among TCU's history of sprinting, and he has another year ahead of him."
Also returning to compete in the 60-meter dash is junior Malik Summers.
"Malik has trained a lot better this fall," said Anderson. "He had a tough year last year, and we expect him to improve on last season."
Freshman Darrion Flowers and sophomore Dekan Ekpo also plan to make an impact in the 60 meters this year. Flowers and Ekpo will make their first appearance in purple on Saturday.
On the women's side, juniors Sabrina Moore, Judy Emeodi and Iphona-Clemence Paiamente will represent TCU in the 60 meters. Last year, Paiamente set a season-best time of 7.49 at the Big 12 Championships and has kept the momentum going throughout the offseason.
"Iphona and Sabrina have looked great at practice this fall, and Judy has made great steps on last year's season," said Anderson. "I know they are ready to get back on the track."
The Horned Frogs will head to College Station on Dec. 12 to open the indoor season at the Reveille Invitational. TCU will face Texas A&M and Houston.
"I think that this trip will be a lot of fun for our kids," Anderson said. "I know they are excited for this first track meet, as it marks the end of fall training."
