Twenty-six Horned Frogs competed in the final day in College Station, with seven athletes placing in the top-20.
In the men's 200-yard butterfly finals, sophomore Matt Spallas finished 10th with a time of 1:49.23. Sophomore Carlos Hunnicutt backed that performance with an 11th-place time of 1:49.26. Also competing in the event were freshman Alex Garriga (1:53.04, 21st), freshman Heyward Brown (1:57.27, 24th) and sophomore Ryan Whelan (1:54.43, 26th).
The women's 200-yard butterfly saw senior Catherine Rash lead the Horned Frog pack, placing 20th at 2:03.16. Sophomore Maddie Johnson followed at 21st (2:03.30). Freshman Catherine Maxey and senior Maggie Burkhardt also placed in the finals, clocking in at 2:05.07 and 2:07.73, respectively.
Freshman Maddie Ibrahim finished among the top in the 200-yard backstroke, placing 19th at 2:00.73. Freshman Rileigh Thornton finished at 2:04.23, sophomore Devin Newton clocked in at 2:04.28 and freshman Jessica Short at 2:07.64.
In the bonus final of the men's 200-yard backstroke, junior Chris Hearl finished the race at 1:50.17, placing 25th. Freshman Leo Sanchez also competed, placing 28th at 1:52.61.
Senior Michelle Garland had a team-best finish at 16th in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:20.87. Sophomore Lindsay Shabet placed 20th at 2:18.84. Junior Ashley Dyke and freshman Ally Coyne also competed, finishing at 2:19.72 and 2:31.10, respectively.
Senior Cameron Rattray led TCU in the men's 200-yard breaststroke, finishing 22nd at 2:04.11. Junior John Remetta followed with a 26th-place time of 2:04.49. Sophomore Destin Hall rounded out the event at 2:07.22.
In the men's 100-yard freestyle finals, freshman Ross Sullivan earned 22nd-place after finishing at 46.13. Freshman Tommy Thach recorded a time of 45.95, and junior Garrett Hills clocked in at 46.45.
A 400-yard freestyle relay team of freshmen Sullivan, Thach, Jonathan Drewes and Sanchez closed out the meet with a 10th-place finish (3:02.18).
At the UT Diving Invite in Austin, freshman Drew Webb placed atop the leaderboards in the 10-meter platform with an 8th-place score of 225.40. On the women's side, freshman Kelli Funk placed 13th after scoring 183.10.
Up next for the Horned Frogs will be a home contest against West Virginia on Jan. 16. The Big 12 matchup will begin at 12 p.m. at the University Recreation Center.
